To clear up some confusion, yes, you can control televisions without having to set it up with a remote. However, you need to set the watch to the correct code according to the brand (a list of brands and codes is included). I put the list in my wallet since it is pretty small, and when I see a TV, usually I have the code memorized (ex. Sony=3) but I can take out the list and set the watch. This watch is a blast when you want to confuse people at their houses or at school or a restaurant or anywhere. The reaction of some people is priceless.
